Optimizing the SiliaBond® Metal Scavengers Results Using the MiniBlock™ on-demand webinar

SiliaBond Metal Scavengers are known as an efficient solution for removing residual trace metals within valuable materials, such as Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs).

Metal scavenging results depend on quite a few parameters such as:

  • Temperature
  • Metal complex
  • Solvent
  • Equivalent
  • Time
  • Other products present with media

Since it is hard to accurately predict what would be the most efficient (optimal) conditions for the metal scavenging, some screening must be performed before scaling-up the metal scavenging process.

During the webinar, we demonstrate how the MiniBlock® can be used in conjunction with the SiliaBond Metal Scavengers from SiliCycle Inc. to quickly determine the most efficient SiliaBond Metal Scavengers conditions with limited time and resources available. The main example will be applied to the treatment of a post Suzuki coupling reaction.

Guest Presenter: François Béland
We are pleased to be hosting this webinar which will be presented by François Béland, the Vice-president Chemistry of SiliCycle Inc. Dr. Béland obtained his Ph.D. in 1999 from Laval University in Quebec City where he studied silica-based catalysts by different spectroscopy methods. After getting his Ph.D., he went to Montpellier in the South of France for post-doctoral studies at the Ecole Nationale Superieure de Chimie de Montpellier to study different catalytic reactions in organic chemistry catalyzed by silica-based heterogeneous catalysts.
