The new Quantos® powder (Q2) and liquid (QLB) dispensing modules can be retrofitted to new or existing XP Excellence Series Analytical Balances. The addition of automated powder and liquid dispensing functionality to the balance allows the easy preparation of samples and standards, eliminates weighing and dilution errors and simplifies the weighing of toxic substances in a glove box.

Either one or both modules can be added to the balance to dispense powders and liquids to a required target weight or concentration automatically with just a touch of a button. Original investments in XP Balances remain up-to-date with the very latest in METTLER-TOLEDO weighing technology. Balances can still be used manually with these modules present, when necessary, to weigh tablets, pastes or solids and substances that are not suited to automated dispensing.

Weighing powder to a low target weight is a time consuming, error prone and sometimes hazardous task. The Q2 can automatically dispense the required amount of powder, replacing the tedious task of weighing with a spatula. Substances of high or unknown toxicity may need to be handled in an isolator or glove box, which is challenging and restrictive. A simple manual dispense may take up to 15 minutes.
